Welsh (sec C) Llettycrudd Sioned Welsh (sec C) Llettycrudd Sioned
Bought 2011, unbroken - I've been attempting to tame her, its slow progress, several people have said she appears to have been frightened badly in the past because when I got her she would completely flip out with loud noises, sudden movements etc. her last owners said they sent her away to be broken to drive so we think that must have been when she got scared because she was obviously returned unbroken as ever! She had definitely been lunged before, although she likes to pretend that she is a poor abused pony that doesn't know what to do - typical pony is way too clever for me. I always picture her sitting in her field solving Rubik's cubes and hastily acting like a pony again whenever anyone goes past. Seriously - she is so clever. It's scary - she's like that lead velociraptor that kills Muldoon in Jurassic Park. She has progressed so far in such a short time, she has a kind of perfect, unspoilt innocence about her which makes her the most beautiful thing I've ever met. She's perfect. I can't stress it enough. She hasn't a bad bone in her body. I've backed her on and off - mainly off!! I didn't have a saddle when I first started backing her so I've had a few falls, obviously it's very new to her but she knows that she doesn't want someone on her back so deposits me fairly often. We muddle along alright I think. I've got a saddle now and she is very good with it! She is so patient with me - it'd never work with another pony - and I don't really mind if I never ride her - she is such a character and it sounds cliche but seriously - I don't know quite what I'd do without her. Stressing about her keeps me grounded - I'd like to think that she likes my company too, but, who knows! Update! This summer I've been riding her - it finally happened - she has somehow turned into this little angel that does everything right?! weird - obviously - there is a long way to go, but I think she's a little cracker - we've even progressed to mounting from the ground - mainly because I fell off and there was nothing to climb on from. :/ but like I said - she wasn't bothered?! I'm confused but not gonna jinx it! We've mainly ridden out - there is more stuff to keep her occupied so she can't mess around, but we've done a little in the field too - and she's gone out with another horse, on her own and with a bike and is good with each. She is also good with canoes as a side note?! I think she's been enjoying the freedom which riding gives her - of course - couldn't really go faster than a trot when she had me dragging along on foot behind her!! Open in gallery |

It sounds like you are doing the right thing - every horse is different so it is hard to give advice! I'd just say that you have plenty of time so take it slowly - try to make it fun for Junior and do

Haha, Chelsea sounds like a sweetie! I might look into getting a rug then as it sounds like they work well, and the global herbs! I can imagine the fuss I'd have trying to get her to eat it though!

I feel so sorry for your poor horse! I used to borrow a pony who also had sweet itch and it was terrible watching her rub herself raw. I'm afraid I don't have any advice - only sympathy, but I'd be in
