Shetland Pony Sofus Shetland Pony Sofus
Sofus is born on the 1st of November 1998. I've known him for around 6 years now, ever since our riding club bought him at 9 years old. He wasn't ridden, had never worn a saddle or a briddle. My sister and I trained him up with our instructor, and my sister took over when I got too big to ride him. She taught him to jump and he just loved it. He never really liked being ridden anyway, so when my sister got too big to ride him, she trained him to walk in front of a wagon, just so he could drive her home from her confirmation. In the summer 2012 the riding club got a new instructor, and she didn't like Sofus or the other shetland pony, Lotus, so she wanted them away. We got offered to buy Sofus very cheap, but we declined because we weren't sure we had the money for three horses. Then my sister was told that she had two weeks to get him sold, or he would've been put down. He was then sold to a woman around an hour away, but it didn't last more than a few months before she couldn't hold him and "he was dangerous." Around two weeks later we picked him up and took him home, dirty, a bit too thin and the light in his eyes were gone. Now he's happy, walking around on the meadow with our two other horses, Liva and Sequoia, he's being taken care of and he's just the family mascot now. We're not planning on selling him again.

Shetland Pony Taliska Cadbury Shetland Pony Taliska Cadbury
Cads came to us in August. She's a 2yo miniature Shetland that I bought for my 2 sons. She's very nervous and timid at the moment as she hasn't been handled very much. My boys are in love with her and she is very sweet...once you've caught her, lol

Shetland Pony Østertofts Kurt Shetland Pony Østertofts Kurt
Østertofts Kurt, or Kurtie as I call him is a lovely Shetland pony on 9 years now. He is flaxen chestnut and he has his own will. I got Kurt at my confirmation on the 9th of May 2010. I had before that worked with him since 2007 when he was only three years old, and I was only 10 :) I was the first to ride him and I have learned him all the things he can today. Even though he wasn't mine, I had him as my own. I was the only one who ride him, since I was the only one who could control him. He has his own opinions about many things, and when Kurt doesn't want to do something you could just as well just let it go, but of course - he isn't a Shetland pony for nothing ;) After all, I've now gotten too tall to ride him, and when he's fit for fight again I will start training some dressage from the ground. I have an idea of him going at least LA-classes (the LA (or on English easy A) classes contain leg yielding and stuff like that) in long lines if we can do it, no matter what I want him to do the exercises from the ground - long lines or not ;) And who knows, maybe I can find a little rider so he can make them from the back too ;) __________________________________ To explain why he needs to be fit for fight again, I can say that he has been sick from the 28. December and he is still not ready yet. His sick-journal in shot version: 28th of December 2012: I had been out training with him and when I had put him out in the pasture again, he started to lay down. I got him to stand op again, but he was laying down again and again and again. I started going around with him and my mother called the vet. The vet came and said that he had a really bad colic. He had probably been eating sand (even though it was winter and there was snow everywhere), because his manure was full of sand (it was like half a beach!). The vet gave him electrolytes, water and mineral oil through a hose down his nostril and down to his stomach. Even though it was cold (REALLY cold!) I slept out in the stable next Kurt so I could be with him if he was beginning to have pains, and also because I should walk with him 15 minutes every hour. If he was okay after midnight I could walk him 15 minutes every second hour. 2nd of January Kurt got a disease called "fatty liver disease" because he wasn't eating anything (and when a Shetland pony isn't eating, you know it's wrong!). We had the vet out and she gave him some painkillers and some painkiller that we should give him. He made it, and around the 7th of January he was well again. 22th of March 2013: Kurt had started limping, I'd been on a course all day and no one knew what had happened. 11th of April 2013: Kurt hadn't been better so we had the vet out. She couldn't find any abnormalities except his limping so she would like us to get him to the clinic so she could x-ray him and give him hydrodilatation. 16th of April 2013: Kurt had now been at the vet, he got there the day before and had spent the night in the vet's stable. Both of our vets was there and was doing the examination. First they took an x-ray to leave out any fractures in his leg. Luckily there wasn't anything to find, and then they gave him hydrodilatation in three joints and after they had examined him they could say that he probably had a very bad pasternluxation. Kurt isn't well yet, he is still limping but not as much as for soon 5 months ago, so I'm believing on it ;) 16th of April 2014 It's now a year since Kurt was at the vets to get examined. He was good to go again in October, but in mid-March, he was limping again :-( We don't really know what the injury is this time, but we've been talking to the vet, and she's given us some advices on what to do.

Shetland Pony Pippa Shetland Pony Pippa
Pippa is a little rescue pony, she was found by a friend of mine chained by the feet with no sign of food or water. She was only a baby (about 6 months old), very thin and depressed. I agreed to take her as a companion for my Fell pony. With alot of T.L.C. and good feeding etc she gradually improved and I have had her now for 4 years approx but unfortunately she is quite bad tempered and is quick to bite and kick when she does not want to be groomed. However she is now in good condition, halter broken and can be sweet when she feels like it!! She has now decided to boss Charm about and is a cheeky little monkey. Happy Days!! I love her really!!

Shetland Pony Asta Shetland Pony Asta
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Asta is my sister's pony ** * * * * * * * * * * Asta is a cute little pony, she has just broken but we also wanted her for driving examiners. Asta loves to be caressed. In her passport says she is born on 1-6-2006. She is just going to put it up at. She is, however, no such completely broken in yet. But sweet it is she. We bought Asta on 30-3-13 and she has green horse passports former owner writes that she is good to jump. She's just a mega cute little Asta:) well she will be completely broken, it meant my sister should jump on her but my sister will probably also just practice a little more before she can:) Diary: 31-3-2013: today came Asta on the fold with my pony Skipper it is skipper who decides upon her 1-4-13: today had Asta saddle on for the first time it went super well both with and without rider also jumped my sister with her it also went pretty good;) 3-4-13: today jumped me and my sister with Asta she has really good:) she jumped probably around the 30 cm:) Comes more tomorrow!

Shetland Pony Sandfords Juventus <3 Shetland Pony Sandfords Juventus <3
The first time I met Juventus was the 14th November 2012. - There you stood, out in the paddock! :-) As fine as you are now! :-D I called you and you came with your small steps over to me ^ ^ 'you got a little treat and you got halters. I pulled you out of the fold and let you graze .. So I talked to Eva about how you are :-) I went for a walk with you :-) I pulled you out of the fold again and cuddled with you away from the door of, and kept talking with Eva .. :-) - You are a very lovely pony! You're a little hjertestjæler! ^ ^ ' - He is learning tricks like kissing right moment, as it is a small thing to learn to start with :-) We have not known each other very long, so it is the slow .. But the more I spend my time building my ties with him, the more confidence he gets to me :-) I plan to quietly to ride him at the beginning of summer :-) Also should I run him for carriage on a time! :-) - He is my best friend, and we've been to our first show on 2 March and we won! Umm .. He follows me everywhere. But when we play together, he may give a kick to it like horse play. He hit me once on hand .. But I love - Hope you will take my little nugget welcome, for I think he deserves! OPDATE: - Now he is 4 years old and i bake a horse cake for him, and YES he loved it! I'm so happy for that he is mine! I really love him so badly much! <3 <3

Shetland Pony Shady Acres Zippo Shetland Pony Shady Acres Zippo
This is my third foal out of my lovely mare Zilver, and my first foal from my new stallion Waldo. He is the spitting image of his father, and also has the same colour: Mushroom and White. He is a very cute little guy, who is very easy to be around, and mom Zilvers is a great mother as usual. I am looking foreward to following this little guy.

Shetland Pony Cumliebank Johnnie HOB Shetland Pony Cumliebank Johnnie HOB
Johnnie is an amazing little boy.. I met and showed him as a foal, and I was immediately in love with him:) Three years ago, I knew nothing about horses and had no possible way of keeping one.. But last summer, the owners approached me with the idea to show him, (I usually show the stallion, so a colt would be no match for me :P) The more and more I worked with Johnnie, The more I fell in love with him. He would have made a beautiful stallion, But I couldn't keep him entire as the mares he runs with now are his relations. We did very well in the show last year and after having him gelded in September, are hoping to do so again this summer. Johnnie would have had an uncertain future, He was going to end up at the aberdeen sales, but the others never went.. If they arent homed this year, they will be heading there in October:/ (they arent mine so I have no say in this). Long story short, I'm so glad ive got Johnnie, Im beginning to break him in now, and hes a little star! <3
