Question about carrots..

Hi everyone,

I have some questions about carrots.

1) How many carrots can I feed my pony a day?

2) Could she risk getting laminitis if I feed her to any carrots?

/Martin

in the winter/early spring when not out in the field, my horse (TB) has 2 buckets of carrots a day (morning and afternoon) and then a hard feed in the evening

its a good natural wormer and is good for their digestion... they love it, obvs maybe a bit less for a pony if it has turnout as well

Carrots only contain water - my horse gets half a bucket with his warm meal in the afternoon.

I don´t think that your horse will get laminitis of carrots, but you can always ask your vet.
